Make a Manchester Martini with Satsuma Orange Infused Gin with The Mischief Maker
Make the Manchester Martini from the Manchester Hotel and Granddam restaurant in Lexington, KY by Michael Florence
I loved this night at the Manchester hotel. Empty except for who I was with and trying some amazing cocktails in a beautiful setting. The bar, cocktails, the couches. A perfect night. I scanned the menu and found two that intrigued me. One is a 16 Hands cocktail with ginger and habanero syrup and the second is this one, the Manchester Martini.
It’s crisp and clean. The 16 hands cocktail is a little more labor intensive, but this one throws together easily once you have all the right ingredients. Michael Florence created both of these when he was over the Manchester’s cocktail program and Tony Way, the new cocktail director was kind enough to share these recipes with me.
Not going to lie, I first had these cocktails on Super Bowl Sunday and have since been acquiring the ingredients. I know it takes me forever sometimes, but I want what I show you to be of quality. I’m not going to put out two things a week if it’s not something I stand by and like. The whole point of this newsletter is that the recipes are actually good and that you can serve them to anyone with confidence. Don’t be scared to order your liquor in the mail. I know that you can make substitutions for different alcohols here, but make it the way it was created. I do think taking the extra time to order the ingredients that the recipe was created with is what makes it special.
