Blood and Sand Cocktail with The Mischief Maker AND Gwenda Bond
If you haven't tried this delightful cocktail yet, you should !
Halloween may be over, but the general spookiness of the season is not. Blood and sands are delightful crowd pleasers. To batch this recipe for a party, mix all ingredients 2 hours in advance (citrus gets tricky, otherwise.) Multiply each ingredients by how many guests you want to serve in a blender and bottle it. We made enough for 30 guests. Measure 3 oz of the finished mixture for each guest, shake on ice, and serve. If you haven’t tried this cocktail yet, you should. BLOOD AND SAND
1 OUNCE JOHNNIE WALKER 12 YEAR
½ OUNCE CHERRY HEERING
½ OUNCE HOUSE SWEET VERMOUTH ( I use Carpano Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth, but here I did like and use Cocchi Vermouth Di Torino)
¾ OUNCE ORANGE JUICE
½ TEASPOON LEMON JUICE
GARNISH: 1 BRANDIED CHERRY ( I like Luxardo)
Shake all the ingredients with ice, then strain into a coupe. Garnish with the cherry.
