Bone Broth Alternative- Miso Broth (Soup) with Marine Collagen
This quick lazy miso soup is perfection! Add collagen or don't- your call. This miso soup is perfect for the cold days ahead.
I was talking to Lissa Sims about the fact that bone broth is not necessarily friendly to those that don’t eat pork, beef, or chicken. Yet, it could be pescatarian friendly with the use of marine collagen . It didn’t sit right with me not to give an alternative version. And it is puzzling how to get it in as the collagen is really the benefit you want from the bone broth. I may make a restorative veggie based broth alternative, but for now this one is good for those that still eat fish. I brainstormed a bit and I was looking up recipes and Lissa said she puts marine collagen in her miso soup.
This miso broth alone with no collagen added is perfection! Fast. Easy! Low calorie and restorative for the resets in between holiday feasts. 1 tablespoon miso paste to 200 ml water is the standard in Japan. Technically, miso soup should have dashi, but you could buy a miso that has dashi in it to skip this step. Alternatively, order this dashi powder to make it a true miso soup and not a broth on Amazon. Add 1/2 tsp dashi powder before you add your hot water. You can alter the amount of miso here to your preference and how long you want to stretch out your miso purchase. You could also add tofu or green onions if you have them! But the point here is something quick and easy to mix with the marine collagen. Call it a soup, call it a broth, it really doesn’t matter. Here is the recipe.
