Devils and Angels Cocktail Party
What I did to batch some cocktails for last night, recipes, and tips you may find useful.
Good afternoon Angels (and Devils)! 🥰 Last night I had some friends over for a cocktail party. Suggested dress on the invite devils and angels. I set up a bar in the dining room and made lots of cocktails with my friend Lissa. I’ve done parties lots of ways. Self serve drinks, so I can talk to people. A batched cocktail in a pitcher. I’ve had people bartend for me. And people help do/ wash glasses. Sometimes paid, sometimes a friend. (Note, if you don’t have a ton of glassware you about have to have a person or two wash.) I was wild last night and thought screw it. Use all of the glasses and wash them later. If you’re the sort of person that likes to work and have an activity or maybe you are in a different sort of mood, and want to keep busy, I think bartending with a friend makes perfect sense. I was perfectly happy last night catering and slinging drinks to friends. Print off all your recipes to keep at your bar. Laminate them if you’re smart. I didn’t. My Angel wings didn’t come in the mail and I tried painting some bronze and copper right before the party. Sometimes we just can’t have it all and get it all done 😅. I was inspired by this photo. I saw it and knew I had to have people over with that dress code.
The three keys here were dahlias, candles, lights out. That was my concept. Cut every dahlia down out of the garden. Put them in bud vases . Everywhere is fair game. Put as many candles in the house as you want. My friend Katelynn helped with this. As my so called witch friend, I find she excels at candle placements and altars 😂. Light some incense as you work to keep you slightly calmer. That’s what she did for me.
