These cheese straws have made an appearance at every gathering at my house for years. I started playing with them years ago and thought they were the perfect thing to lay out for cocktails or pre-dinner snacks. It's nice to lay out something for people while you’re cooking and finishing a meal. I’ve paired them with every type of menu imaginable as cheddar cheese goes with almost everything. I did a variation at my birthday dinner this year with Comte cheese. Very good too, but the original is just the go-to for me. Pulled out of the oven and served warm, there are few things better. You can even make them for the most satisfying late night snack when everyone comes home, since the dough can be made in advance. This is THE recipe to up your entertaining game fast.
